Time to say 'Goodbye' for a while . . .
by nicolaou inworks piling up and i've got a ton of stuff to do - some of it might even be fun!
i've been posting at jwd/n for more than eight years and i'm sure i'll keep on doing it but from time to time it's useful to take a few months out.
clear your head, waste time in the garden instead of at a laptop, drink a little wine, dance with your daughter, laugh at the dog - you get the idea.

We'll be here when you get back, enjoy your break!

Do you believe in MIRACLES?
by nicolaou ini'll be honest and admit that i did.
the 'moses' miracles, solar miracles, jesus miracles - everything.
so no belief bashing from me on this one, i promise.. all the same, how do you reconcile belief in miracles with that little voice in your head that says "hmmmmm?

only me
Thank you all for your comments, especially 'only me' for sharing the only account of a 'miracle' containing specific details (by RA do you mean rheumatoid arthritis?) I'm glad you and your Mom are well.
Yes, I had extremely severe rheumatoid arthritis, wasn't getting relief from the meds I was taking. Still have the residual damage, but the doctor say he has never seen anyone just go from severe disease to no signs of active disease so fast. My Mom is still a JW and doesn't know this was done for her.
We are lucky, that much is sure.
I have to repeat, I had no idea that I was being healed until it was done. Didn't even have an idea he could do it.
Now a couple years later, I've learned of other healings that he has done, my daughter had a large cavity in her tooth and he healed that in 3 days. I could actually see the hole filling in with healthy tooth over time. Weird i know but I can only say what I saw. He doesn't want publicity, money, or even thank yous. He is very shy about it all.
He can also hear what most people are thinking. Says it's like listening to the radio all the time, annoying.
I suppose it could all just be a coincidence but I don't think so. Some might chalk it up to demons, I don't know.
I'm just thankful and I'm happy he's in our lives.
Anyway, I don't expect anyone to believe this just because I say it. Proof is in the seeing I think.

Yes I do. I have been healed of RA and my JW mom was healed of a tumor in the duct between her liver and pancreas.
Neither one of us wa aware of the intent to heal us until it was accomplished. The faith was the healer's, not ours.
This was a cou[le years ago and we are both still disease free.
The man who helped us is a Catholic who also practices Wicca.
It's true, but I don't expect anyone who doesn't know us to believe it.

What Is Your Present Status In The Organization?
by minimus inare you disfellowshipped?
disassociated?
a fader?

only me
I was a fader but now I don't know. Proboably still faded but the elders know we had some holidays so they could have DFd me by now. I really don't care at this point, been treated as DF for over a year now. People are much nicer on this side of the Truth.

Mother's Day: Do You Send Your JW Mom a Card/Gift?
by VIII insince i left the jws i have consistently sent my mom a mother's day card and / or flowers.
depending on my mood and credit limit i will send her a gift.
she has never asked me not to nor has she said this is a bad thing or not approved by the society.
-
only me
I've always given my Mom a Mother's day gift and she always called me on my birthday and asked if I felt any older.
Now she has dementia and doesn't remember. I'll still give her flowers on Mother's Day.

Positives:
You will learn to be blindly obedient
You wo't have to think for yourself ever again
No decisioon making !! all done for you
Lots of leisurely outdoor activity, walking door to door for hours
All the coffee you can drink
No having to eat crackers and wine that have been breathed on by everyone.
That's a start, I'm sure there's many more.
